The invitation is now extended to “whosoever will.” The message of the Gospel, rejected by the nation, now is to go into all the world. Salvation has burst beyond national walls and the commission of our Lord was literally carried out. Jesus had said, … in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). The first part of this commission was fulfilled in the first seven chapters of Acts, and was concluded when Stephen was stoned.
